When I double-click the Motorist icon, it bounces in the Dock, then either dissapears or stops bouncing, without opening properly. How can I fix this problem?

Your copy of the Motorist application has become corrupt. You should re-download it from the downloads page.

Music and/or sound effects do not play in game. How can I enable them?

First of all, ensure your computer can play other sounds, check the system volume, try playing a song in iTunes. If you can play other sounds, your copy of Motorist is probably corrupt. You should re-download it from the downloads page.

Please note: some Motorist download packages will come without music, to keep filesizes small. Read the next question if you want to add in your own.

Can I add my own music/customise the sound effects?

Yes! Navigate to the Motorist application, right click and choose "Show package contents". Open the contents folder, then resources and then sounds. Here you can swap out any sounds you want. Ensure that they're in the WAVE (.wav) format. If you want to change the main game music, add or change the file called: "Theme-Loop.wav".

Motorist runs slowly or not at all. Can I speed it up?

First, make sure there is nothing else running on your system that could be slowing it down, such as other CPU intensive programs (iTunes is an example of this). If you can, add some more RAM to your computer or perhaps a better graphics card.

When I try to create a new game, no maps are shown in the dialog. How can I fix this?

Your maps may be corrupt. Navigate to the Motorist application, right click and choose "Show package contents". Open the contents folder, then resources and then maps. Check that there are maps in here, and ensure they have the .momap file extension. If there are none, re-download Motorist from the downloads page and use that copy, or copy the maps out of this new copy of Motorist to your old one.

How can I obtain the source code to this application?

Go to the Google Code page for this project, click the source tab and follow the instructions to checkout the code from the Subversion repository.

What liscence is this program released under?

Motorist is released under the GNU General Public Liscence version 3. This means that it is open source and you are free to make changes as you like. Please read more about the liscence at the GNU GPL site.

Why is the Resume button not shown on the menu?

You do not have a game open. You need to create a new game before you can resume it.

How do I uninstall Motorist?

Simply drag the Motorist and Motorist Editor applications to the trash. If you want to be particular, navigate to the Preferences folder inside the Library folder in your home folder and delete "com.sdunster.Motorist.plist" and "com.sdunster.MotoristEditor.plist". Motorist will not install any other files on your computer.

Why doesn't the options button do anything?

There are no options that need to be configured in this program as yet. The options button is a placeholder for future updates.
